In response to recent developments surrounding Coronavirus (COVID-19), all deliveries on the Skip Network are now Contactless, network-wide. We are launching this initiative as a precautionary measure to reduce health risks to our community of customers, restaurant partners, and couriers.

Contactless Delivery

With Contactless Delivery, you will simply leave the order at the customer’s door or lobby (as specified in the Contactless Delivery Instructions). Be sure to call the customer to confirm the delivery before swiping that the order is Delivered. 

We have added an in-app feature to provide you with the best practices and steps when you’re on a shift and completing a Contactless Delivery.

Coronavirus Regulations and By-Laws*

We wanted to bring you up to date on some of the latest covid regulations and by-laws from across the country.

• Quebec: As of September 1, 2021 vaccine passports are required for patrons to dine-in at restaurants in Quebec. As per this regulation, takeout counters and drive-thru services are exempt from this requirement.
• Manitoba: Beginning on September 3, 2021 patrons must show proof of vaccination to dine-in at restaurants in Manitoba. As per the regulation, individuals do not require proof of vaccination to pick up takeout or delivery orders.
• Ontario: Starting September 22, 2021 Ontario has made it mandatory to show proof of vaccination while dining-in at restaurants. Under the regulation, takeout orders and delivery orders are exempt from this requirement.
• British Columbia: As of September 13, 2021 British Columbia will require proof of vaccination for indoor and patio dining. Individuals picking up takeout or delivery orders are not required to show proof of vaccination. However, restaurants may have their own policies regarding pickup orders.
• Alberta: Starting September 20, Alberta will require either proof of vaccination, proof of exemption from vaccination, or a recent negative COVID-19 test for indoor dining. As per the regulation, restaurants can continue to offer pick-up and delivery orders without the requirement to show proof of vaccination. 
• New Brunswick: Starting September 22, 2021 New Brunswick will require either proof of vaccination or proof of exemption from vaccination for indoor and outdoor dining. Individuals entering the restaurant for a short period of time to pick up takeout or delivery orders are not required to show proof of vaccination. 
• Saskatchewan: Commencing October 1, Saskatchewan will require either proof of vaccination or proof of exemption from vaccination for indoor and outdoor dining. Individuals picking up takeout or delivery orders are not required to show proof of vaccination. However, restaurants may have their own policies regarding pickup orders.
• Nova Scotia: Commencing October 4, 2021 Nova Scotia will require either proof of vaccination or proof of exemption from vaccination for indoor and outdoor dining. Individuals picking up takeout or delivery orders are not required to show proof of vaccination. 
• PEI: Starting October 5, 2021 Prince Edward Island has made it mandatory to show proof of vaccination while dining in at restaurants. Under the regulation, takeout orders and delivery orders are exempt from this requirement.

*You’re responsible for complying with all applicable laws and regulations in your province, territory, or city. Always keep an eye out for new updates and revisions to By-Laws and regulations.

Failing to adhere to mandatory mask regulations may result in your access to the Skip Network being permanently revoked.

Curfew Restrictions

To prevent the spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19), the Quebec Government has implemented a 10 pm – 5 am curfew across the province starting on December 31, 2021.

Couriers offering food delivery services while on shift have been exempted from the curfew restrictions. Please note that during curfew hours, law enforcement may stop you and may ask you to provide proof that you’re on a courier shift.

Check your email for a letter to establish that you offer courier services on the Skip Network.

Suspending Cash Orders

We will be suspending cash payments. Online payment methods allow all users to reduce contact with surfaces known to aid in the spread of COVID-19.

Takeout Bags

We have encouraged our restaurant partners to seal all takeout bags. This limits added exposure and the potential for unnecessary contact. To limit contact with exposed surfaces, we recommend keeping thermal bags off restaurant countertops. 

Alcohol Delivery

If you decide to accept an order for alcohol delivery, you will still need to ask the customer for a government ID at the time of delivery. Please use extra precautions. If you would like to temporarily opt-out of alcohol delivery, click here. 

Recommended Precautions

Based on guidance from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Government of Canada, we recommend taking the following precautions:

• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
• Maintain at least 2 metre (6 feet) distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing.
• Practice respiratory hygiene by covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
