Delivering in low light conditions

You should always exercise good business judgement while offering delivery services to ensure your safety and those of other Canadian residents!

Delivering in lowlight conditions can present additional hazards, and exaggerate others.  The tips below can  keep you safe whilst offering delivery services:

  1. Be visible: Wearing high-visibility clothing can make a big difference if you are involved in an incident.
  1. Use a torch: Illuminating the path you are about to take can reduce the likelihood of a slip, trip or fall incident or an unwanted pet interaction.
  1. Always choose paved paths: Walking through gardens or taking a shortcut can expose you to slip, trip and fall hazards. If there is no paved path, scan ahead to identify any hazards that you may encounter.
  1. Park in well-lit areas:  Parking in well-lit areas helps you to be visible to others. This can help deter unwanted interactions with other people and make it easier to keep an eye on your vehicle.
  1. Stay focused while driving: staying extra alert in low light conditions helps. Scanning the road ahead with your headlights on helps to have enough time to react to changing conditions or hazards.
