Changes to your earnings are coming in September.
British Columbia has introduced new standards for couriers that will come into effect on Sept. 3, 2024.
These new standards include:
- Minimum wage of $20.88, which is 120% of BC’s general minimum wage, applied to engaged time.
- An additional distance expense allowance of $0.35/km travelled during engaged time.

So, what does this mean for you?
NEW! Offer Screen details
Estimated Distance Expense Allowance will be added to your offer screen on the Courier app.
NEW! Earnings Screen update
You will see two new lines in your weekly earnings screen on the Courier app for completed weeks:
- Earnings top-up
- Distance expenses allowance
NOTE:
For current weekly earnings, you will not see the distance expense allowance or earnings top-up. Once the week is complete, please refer to your previous week’s statement which will include all your payment details. Rest assured, you will be paid accurately.
NEW! Statements Screen overview
A new detailed overview will be added to your Statements view in the Courier Portal with the following details:
- Total amount earned
- Total engaged time
- Earning rate
+ Total earnings top-up
- Total estimated engaged distance
+ Total distance expenses allowance
- Tips
- Total amount payable
Please note that the changes in pay with the implementation of Bill 48 will replace our minimum pay top-up promotional program for couriers in BC
