Did you know? As a Courier offering delivery services on the Skip platform in MB, BC, SK, NS and Ontario (bike couriers) you are covered under the Workers’ Compensation regime (WCB).
What does this mean? In the event of a workplace injury, accident or illness, the WCB provides a no-fault insurance system that protects you, covers earnings while you recover, and pays for healthcare benefits. They also provide support to help you safely return to providing services.
Under the Workers Compensation Act, you have a right to claim WCB benefits, and we have an obligation to ensure this right is protected.
Reporting an Injury: To help us comply with the Act, we need to be notified if you experience an injury while on a delivery run. The faster this information is shared, the quicker the WCB can assess your claim, allowing you to focus entirely on your recovery.
If you experience an injury while on a delivery run, please notify us as soon as possible through one of these methods:
- If you have an order assigned, you can use the “Remove Order” function: Select “Accident/Safety issues” in the app. Once selected, you will get a prompt to chat with an Agent.
- Using the Chat function: Whether you are online or offline, you can use the in-app chat function to connect with an agent. The agent will follow the correct protocol to escalate this.
- Using Email: If you are unable to use the options above, you can email [email protected] at any time. If possible, please use “Injury” as the subject line.
- Get Medical Care: See a doctor and explicitly tell them you were injured while working. They will send a report directly to the WCB.
- Report to the WCB MB: Submit your injury report to the WCB:

⚠️ Got into a car accident? Reporting to your local provincial auto insurer does not mean the WCB knows. You should still inform Skip so we can file a WCB claim for you.
Safety & Emergency Situations
- Immediate Danger / Crime: If you feel unsafe or a law has been broken, call 911 or local authorities immediately.
- Non-Emergencies: For general health and safety concerns, fill out Skip’s online contact form (select ‘incidents form’ as the reason) or use the non-live chat function in the Courier App.

Incidents include Motor vehicle Accidents, slips, trips, or animal bites. Please note that this is not a complete list. You should notify us of all work-related incidents or contact WCB.
