To sign up as a courier on the Skip Network, you must be the age of majority in your province of residence, have a reliable vehicle, and submit a copy of these required documents:
- Valid driver’s license
- Proof of work eligibility
- Background check
You’ll also need the following:
- A smartphone with a data plan
- Direct deposit banking information
- Industry standard thermal catering bags
How to earn on your terms.
When you sign up, you’ll get to choose where you want to deliver by selecting your preferred Delivery Zones. Zones are areas within a city with clusters of restaurants or vendors and customers to keep couriers busy.
You’ll also choose when, and how often, you deliver on the network. Couriers set their availability in the Courier App every week. For more information, see How Scheduling Works.

What do I need to become a courier?
To become a courier on the Skip Network, you have to be of the age of majority in your province and provide documentation – such as a Canadian passport/birth certificate/PR card or work permit/study permit – that you’re legally able to work in Canada. You will be required to do a background check.
Further, you will need the following tools of the trade: a valid driver’s licence, a reliable vehicle (with vehicle insurance and vehicle registration), thermal bags, and a smartphone (with a data plan).
What do I provide to complete the sign-up process?
On the Courier Portal, you’ll need to upload documents like your valid driver’s license, and documentation that you are legally able to work in Canada. You’ll also need to complete a mandatory background check and purchase your own thermal bags.
Thermal bags and a background check can be paid for through the sign-up process. You can also upload photos of a background check completed within the last 90 days and photos of your own thermal bags.
When can I get started?
You can start delivering on the SkipTheDishes Network once you complete the sign-up process and have all of the required tools. After you complete the sign-up steps, you’ll get a message from us to confirm that your account is active. Then, you can set your availability right away and start delivering on the network.
How do background checks work?
Once you’ve purchased the background check, we’ll send you a link to a third-party service provider so you can complete your background check.
You’ll be sent the link to your background check within 2-3 days. Once your background check is approved, you can start delivering within 48 hours.
If you already have a background check that was completed within the last 90 days, you’ll be prompted to submit it during the sign-up process.
How do I purchase thermal bags?
Skip-branded commercial-grade thermal bags can be purchased during the sign-up process. If the thermal bags were purchased along with a background check, the bags will be shipped after the background check is complete.
You always have the option to use your own thermal bags as long as they meet the requirements. You’ll need to upload a photo of both bags in one picture with your photo ID on top.
What are the requirements for thermal bags?
- You must have 1 pizza bag and 1 large catering bag.
- Both bags must close completely with heavy-duty Velcro strips or an industrial zipper.
- The pizza bag must fit a minimum of four 18″ pizzas.
- The catering bag must have minimum interior dimensions of 23″ L x 14″ W x 17″ H (to be capable of holding two full-sized catering pans with a 6″ height).
- The liner must be leak-proof, removable, and made of heavy-duty, thermally-reflective high-temperature material.
- Both bags must have no rips or tears.
When you’re ready, just upload a new photo of thermal bags that meet the above requirements. We’ll review the new photo within 48 hours.
If you choose to supply your own thermal bags, do not make a payment for both the thermal bags or background check, as these purchases are not refundable.

As a courier, your earnings consist of the transit pay and customer tips.

The amount of money you make as a courier depends on a few key factors, including how many deliveries you complete.
How many deliveries can I expect to make on a shift?
The number of deliveries you’ll be offered depends on the network’s order volume. We’re always working to make sure there’s a healthy match of couriers to orders, so couriers can maximize the number of deliveries they can make on a shift.
When do I get paid?
All your earnings from online orders are deposited into your account on a weekly basis.
