You’re the one walking the aisles, so the way you pack and prep the order can make or break the customer experience. Here are a few easy ways to keep things clean and smooth:
1. Barcode won’t scan? Snap a pic.
If a product’s barcode doesn’t scan, and you have confirmed that you have the right item (or shows an error when typed), no stress. Just follow the app prompt and take a photo of the item. That’s enough to keep going and finish the shop.
2. Bag it every time.
Never deliver a Shop + Pay order loose—ALWAYS use a bag.
Pro tip: If the customer didn’t request a bag, you must use your Skip Visa Prepaid Card to purchase one at the store as part of the same order before scanning the Skip card. Plastic, paper, or reusable — choose whatever keeps the order neat, secure, and easy to carry.
3. Seal it shut.
If the store has a stapler at the packing station, use it to close the bags. It’s a simple way to keep things secure (and customers appreciate it).

4. Pack smart, not fast.
- Keep fragile stuff like eggs and bread on top.
- Don’t squash produce under heavier items.
Use more than one bag if it helps avoid damage. Better safe than sorry.
Checkout tips that keep you compliant.
When it’s time to pay, a few key things help avoid delays or Partner issues.
1. Use cashier checkouts whenever available.
Some retail Partners require specific checkout procedures (like scanning loyalty barcodes or entering tax IDs), and a cashier must do these steps to ensure everything goes smoothly. Only use self-checkout if a regular cashier checkout is not available (e.g., Walmart).

2. Special checkout steps for some partners (BC, MB, SK only):
Some partner orders in British Columbia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan will require additional steps during checkout. When prompted:
- Provide Tax-Exempt ID: 51051 at checkout.
- Present the loyalty barcode to the cashier
(The tax-except ID and/or barcode will be displayed on the app when you are checking out)
3. Only use the Skip Visa Prepaid Card.
- Add the card to your wallet to get your first Shop + Pay order
- Never use personal debit or credit cards: Partners require Skip’s card to be used for all purchases.
- Lost phone or deleted the card by mistake? Contact Courier Support to request a replacement Skip Visa Prepaid Card that you can add to the wallet of your new device.
- Switching or upgrading your phone? Remove the Skip Visa Prepaid Card from your old device and add it to your new one before accepting Shop + Pay orders.
- In all cases, avoid using your personal cards.

4. No personal rewards cards.
When you’re doing a Shop + Pay delivery, don’t scan personal loyalty programs like PC Optimum (Loblaws), LDExtras (London Drugs), etc.
Using personal rewards while on Shop + Pay orders is not allowed and is monitored by partners.
